Dayton Celebrates Grand Opening Of BlueCross Healthy Place At Pendergrass Park

Representatives from the city of Dayton and the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation recently gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the BlueCross Healthy Place at Pendergrass Park. The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation provided $4 million for the project build and an additional $800,000 for a maintenance fund, bringing the total investment in the space to $4.8 million. Pendergrass Park is a municipal park located off Main Street in Dayton. The city applied for BlueCross Healthy Place funding in the hopes of bringing additional amenities to the space and making it a gathering place for residents. Catfish Stocking Begins In Community Fishing Lakes

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be stocking channel catfish in community fishing lakes in late April. The locations include Cameron Brown Lake in Germantown, Cedar Hill Lake in Nashville, Dickert Pond in Chattanooga, Greenbelt Lake in Maryville and Fountain City Lake in Knoxville. I said dumping fees are out of control, but in fact they are being controlled by Capital Waste Services. Capital Waste owns and, or operates, all the landfills and transfer stations in a 50-mile radius of Chattanooga. They have implemented a two-ton minimum charge at $55 per ton at the transfer station in Soddy Daisy. I am a handy man who builds decks and does light remodeling. The Chattanooga Wreckers hit three solo home runs in the second inning in their 4-1 win over the Birmingham Barons in front of 5,307 fans. The win snaps a four-game losing streak for Chattanooga and ends the Barons' eight-game winning streak.
