  • Friday, April 26, 2024

Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. continued its commitment to “Service to all mankind” by partnering with Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center and Audubon Acres Nature Preserve to plant trees in celebration of National Arbor Day.

The sorority set a goal to plant 3,100 trees each year for four years, inspiring their network of active members and graduates to act.

There were three events to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day. The first two included members of the graduate chapter.

One took place at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center and the other at Audubon Acres. The Youth Leadership Institute on Saturday will plant trees at the Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center. YLI is a youth-led and interactive leadership development program designed to empower and engage youth, ages 11-13.
