Charles Alfred Manning, 74, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee passed away on January 14, 2024 in Miami, Florida.

Charlie was born on December 2, 1949 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Betty and Alfred Manning. From an early age, Charlie approached life with enthusiasm, always eager for new adventures and uncharted paths. He had an insatiable thirst for exploration and would often find himself getting lost, seeking out new horizons and discovering hidden treasures along the way. His contagious smile and sense of humor would light up any room he entered, touching not just family, but all who knew him. He was a loyal and steadfast friend, a devoted father and grandfather.

Charlie was a creative problem-solver and visionary engineer whose expertise spanned a multitude of disciplines, honed through years of hands-on experience and a relentless passion for innovation. Throughout his career, Charlie embarked on a journey that took him across the country and around the world, leaving his mark on countless people and projects, especially throughout the Caribbean in Anguilla, Belize, Panama, Bahamas, Jamaica, and Nevis. A man of unwavering integrity and honesty, Charlie held himself to the highest standards in everything he did. His zest for life, immense generosity and boundless energy left an indelible mark on all who knew him - his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. Although he may be gone from this world, he lives on through the people he touched, who all have stories to tell. We carry his memory with us, and it brings comfort to know that so much of him is alive within us all, his friends and family.

Charlie is survived by his four children and their spouses: Spencer and Hanna Manning of Newport Beach, Ca.; Chase and Jami Manning of San Francisco, Ca.; Shaina and Julian Otterpohl of Red Bank, Tn.; and Carly and Jacob Armitage of Red Bank, Tn. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Leila Manning, Olivia Armitage, and Thomas Armitage.

In addition to his immediate family, Charlie is survived by his beloved partner, Marisol Alfaro of Anguilla, who shared 10 years of growing love, laughter and companionship with him. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, despite life's challenges. Though their paths have diverged, she remains a cherished presence in his and our lives.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother Betty Boggess, father, Alfred Manning, and brother, Richard Manning.
