Kay Frances Holland, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 5, 2024. She was born in Pikeville, Tn., and her life was filled with love, friends, family, and countless cherished memories.

Kay had a passion for gardening and caring for her beautiful home, spending countless hours tending to her flowers and plants. Her green thumb transformed her surroundings into vibrant spaces, and her love for nature was evident in every bloom she nurtured.

Watching her grandsons play sports, taking care of them, making snacks, and preparing for special occasions brought Kay immense joy. From the sidelines, she cheered them on with much pride, her warm smile lighting the way. Her laughter was infectious, filling rooms with warmth and friendship. Kay enjoyed long talks and the peaceful outdoors. Kay cherished memories captured in photographs, preserving moments that would forever live in our hearts.

Above all, Kay’s devotion centered on her love for Jesus, her family, neighbors, and close friends. Her home was a perfect sanctuary, welcoming all who entered. Her love for her husband of 56 years, Don Holland, was unwavering. Their enduring bond began as high school sweethearts and grew stronger with each passing year.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, James and Juanita Humble, as well as her sister, Barbara Roberson, and brother-in-laws Maxi Roberson and Francis Chase. Their legacy remained etched in the hearts of those who knew them.

She is survived by her two children, Justin (Kelley) and John (Amy). Her sisters—Jo Chase, Vivian Sharrow (Doc), James Humble, Jr. (Jane), Sam Humble (Sue), Nancy Worthington (Robert), and several nieces and nephews—were part of her close-knit family. Kay’s grandchildren—Houston, Parker, Tanner, Taylee, and Trevor. Her grandchildren called her Grammie and they brought her immeasurable joy. Whether celebrating milestones, preparing for holidays, or cheering them on at ball games, Kay poured her love into every moment shared with them.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy. A service will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2 p.m.

We celebrate Kay’s life and honor her legacy and influence she had on the lives of her family and friends as a beautiful follower of Jesus. She is certainly in Heaven and smiling. It is not goodbye, but see you again soon. With love.
