Luther “Luke” Frederick Geer, age 80, passed away on April 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 8, 1944, and will be remembered for his warm heart, deep love for his family, and his infectious sense of humor.
Luke brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His playful spirit and quick wit brightened the lives of those around him. Luke was a loving husband to his wife, Ileata Elaine Geer, and a proud father to his children: Julie Chilson Pratt, Benjamin Timothy Geer, Ethan Tobias Geer, Rebecca Lynn Geer, and Matthew Frederick Geer and grandchildren: Kinsey Elise Geer, Gavin Michael Chilson, MaryKatherine Ruth Geer, Lydia Elizabeth Geer, and Evylin Harper Geer.
His family was the center of his world, and he delighted in spending time with them, especially when firing up his smoker to cook brisket and barbecue for family gatherings. As a skilled carpenter and home builder, Luke's hands crafted not just houses, but also lasting memories for his family and community. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his devotion to his family. His faith was a cornerstone of his life. He attended church every Saturday with his wife, finding solace and strength in their shared devotion. Luke found great comfort in reading the Bible and often engaged in discussions about faith and the Lord with those around him.
Luke's legacy is one of love, laughter, craftsmanship, and faith. His unwavering faith and joyful spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace until he is reunited with the Lord whom he loved dearly.
