Whitley “Whitt” Brian Sitton, 32, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2024.

He was born on Sept. 10, 1991, to Brian and Jill Sitton. He lived on Signal Mountain his whole life. He was in the first graduating class of Signal Mountain High School in 2010 where he excelled in many sports. In 2015, he met his wife, Ashley Burtrum Sitton, whom he married on Sept. 26, 2020.

Whitt worked alongside his dad and brother at Brian Sitton Construction. He was hard-working, driven, and had a passion for the excavating and grading industry. He recently started his own excavating company, W Sitton Company. Through his work, Whitt made numerous friends and created many memories doing what he loved. Growing up as a child, Whitt loved going to job sites and operating equipment with his dad.

Whitt was a member at Signal Mountain Baptist Church, now known as The Point Church at Signal Mountain.

Whitt was a loving father to his children, Sapphire and Wyatt. He was a devoted husband, brother, and son. His family meant the world of him.

Whitt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter L. and Beverly A. Sitton; aunt, Lisa S. Cornett; cousin, Natalie Sitton; and mother-in-law, Sherry Burtrum.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Sitton; children, Sapphire and Wyatt; parents, Brian and Jill Sitton; siblings, Cole (Madison), Kelsey, and Laura Paige Sitton; grandparents, George and Imogene Selcer; uncles, Greg Sitton (Amy), Rick Selcer (Dori); aunts, Susan Christopher (Bill), Jeannine Hart (Mitchell), and Karen Johnson; father-in-law, Frater Burtrum; brother-in-law, Trent Burtrum (Rowena), Travis Burtrum (Nikki); sister-in-law, Brittany Burtrum (Cody); and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at The Point Church at Signal with Pastor Sam Greer officiating. Interment will follow at Sawyer Cemetery with Cole Sitton, Ben Taylor, Tanner Knox, Garrett Adkins, Travis Burtrum, RJ Sitton, Logan Mills, Chad Milldram, Daniel Walker, Ryan Potter, and Cole Adams serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at The Point Church at Signal, 989 Ridgeway Ave., Signal Mountain, Tn. 37377.
