Frank Johnson, Jr., 71, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Chattanooga.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1952, to the late Frank Johnson, Sr. and Corrine Calhoun Johnson. Frank was raised by his bonus parents, Mr. Eddie L. Calhoun, and Annie Ruth Calhoun. Frank attended and graduated from Howard High School, where he played the drums in the Marching 100 Band. Frank was employed with Combustion Engineering for many years. He was employed with Tri-state Roofing company at the time of his passing. Frank was an avid football fan. His favorite team was the Atlanta Falcons. He also enjoyed lecturing. Giving strong life lessons to all who would listen was his delight.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Johnson, Sr., and Corrine Calhoun Johnson: his bonus parents, Eddie L. Calhoun, and Annie R. Calhoun; brothers, William R Calhoun, and Eddie L. Gore; sister, Edna Calhoun Whisnant.

He leaves to cherish precious memories, his daughter, Lucy Chain; four grandchildren, Benjamin Blake, Jr., Malik Chain, Mikayla Chain, and Taneka Pitmon; brothers, James Carthen, and George Calhoun of Chattanooga, one uncle, Charles (Carolyn) Calhoun of Atlanta; a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at the Chattanooga Civic Center at Mountainside, 701 Hooker Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37410.
