Gifted Writer Had An Unmatched Sense Of Humor

Barbara Ann Sandy Cowher, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, drew her final breath on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1951, she attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and later Shawnee Mission North as well as Wyandotte High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Shirley Jean Heinrichs.

She leaves behind her adored sons, Chad Cowher and his wife Jacquline Cowher of Soddy Daisy, and Scott Cowher and his wife Dayna Cowher of Colorado Springs, Co., her brother, William James Sandy and wife Dolores Sandy of Lenexa, Kansas and her sister, Sandra Sandy of Roeland Park, Ks.

She had an unmatched sense of humor and was a gifted writer, published in the Anthology of American Poets. A line from one of her poems "Unmarked Graves....There they lay, nameless in a sea of names."

She will be laid to rest with her parents, Clarance Gordon and Virginia Lee Sandy in St. Joesph's Cemetery on May 14, at noon in Shawnee, Ks. Our hearts are broken.
