Keep Soddy-Daisy Beautiful 4th Annual Cleanup Challenge Is April 19

  • Tuesday, April 16, 2024

Keep Soddy-Daisy Beautiful’s 4th Annual Cleanup Challenge will be held this Friday.

Organizers said, "It’s a fun way to contribute to our Earth Week celebrations and help keep our community beautiful.

"The 2022 Tennessee Statewide Litter Study revealed a startling 80 percent of litter accumulates on local roads, much of it small and harmful to our environment. This statistic drives home the critical need for community participation in events like our Cleanup Challenge.

"This year, we’re all about picking up, cleaning up and teaming up. Gather your friends and family to help reduce litter in our parks and streets. It's not just about cleaning; it’s about caring and having fun while doing it."

"Nate Sanden here reminding you: We provide the gear—you bring the energy. Get ready to compete for prizes by collecting the most trash and discovering the quirkiest item," said Nate Sanden, spokesperson for Keep Soddy-Daisy Beautiful.

Sign up here.

"Join us at various locations across Hamilton County and let's make a difference together," organizers said. "Let’s show some love for our planet this Earth Week. Your hands can change the landscape."

The cleanup runs through April 25, with special awards for the top collectors and the most unusual finds.
